‘Services of Bir Hospital should be of quality and accessible’

Kathmandu, Jan 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed to maintain the service in the Bir Hospital in such a way that patients do not feel the need to complain about the services delivered saying that the hospital is the pillar of the health sector.

In a discussion with high-level officials of the National Academy of Medical Sciences about the appointment of Chancellor, on Thursday, the PM said that the health service being provided by the Bir Hospital reflects the situation of the health sector of the country, so quality and accessible health services needs to be delivered from the hospital.

Mentioning that the government is making efforts to provide the resources that are requested to run the hospital smoothly, the PM said, “Please, ensure the quality of health service to patients, and do not let a situation occur where the patients feel the need to complain about services received during treatment.”

The PM stressed rather than functioning on a traditional basis, services that can be exercised and felt need to be rendered to denizens by the hospital. Mentioning that the PM has started a discussion about the appointment of Chancellor of the hospital, and assured that the qualified person from the medical field will receive the appointment in the post.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Bhupendra Kumar Basnet said that the flow of patients is high in the hospital, therefore, and requested to PM to add up resources to meet the demand.He emphasized that Veer Hospital should provide its services in a way that the people can feel rather than the traditional way.
