CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has urged civil servants to stay away from corruption. In his address to a gathering following the inauguration of the Martyr Manoj Jhapendra Memorial Community Civil Service Building at Chandragadhi of Bhadrapur-10 in Jhapa today, the erstwhile Prime Minister insisted on the need of rooting out corruption for the development of the nation. “Let’s hate corruption, deliver promptly and win the people’s heart,” he told civil servants. Stating that an individual is influenced by this or that political ideology and civil servants are too not the exception, he said but their service to the people should be absolute as the bureaucracy was the mechanism for serving the people. He also utilised the forum to urge civil servants for fair performance in the upcoming elections. The two-storey building was constructed at the cost Rs 18 million on the initiatives of Nepal Government Employees] Organisation, Jhapa and the Civil Servants Savings and Credit Cooperatives, Bhadrapur, said building construction management committee coordinator Laxmi Prasad Guragain. Earlier on 19 January, 2014, leader Oli laid the foundation stone for the building.
