Common Minimum Programme of government to be decided within five days

The major ruling partner parties have expressed commitment to work as per the people’s aspiration, chalking up the Common Minimum Programme of the government. A meeting of the held at the Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar today formed a taskforce with CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli as its coordinator to formulate the Common Minimum Programme. The taskforce will have one member each from the ruling coalition partner parties.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane said the taskforce will prepare the common minimum programme within five days. Discussions were held in the today’s meeting with the intent that some new works have to be initiated since the present government is formed to fulfill the expectations of the people, according to the Home Minister who is also the Rastriya Swatantra Party chairperson.

The meeting also held discussions on expansion of the Council of Ministers and on other contemporary issues, he added. Important exchange of views took place in the meeting regarding including in the Cabinet qualified subject experts who can work with high performance while expanding the Council of Ministers. He said today’s meeting is taken as preliminary one and the next meeting will be held on Friday.
