Lumbini All Stars have won the title of Nepal T-20 Cricket League. Lumbini won the title by defeating Biratnagar Super Kings by 24 runs in the final match on Wednesday.
Chasing the target of 134 runs given by Lumbini, Athanagar lost only 100 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Arjun Saud of Biratnagar scored 34 runs and Prithu Banskate scored 31 runs. Lumbini’s Harmeet Singh and Sagar Dhakal took two wickets each .
Lumbini, who won the toss and batted first at the Trivi Cricket Ground, scored 133 runs in 19 overs and got out. Lahiru Milantha scored 41 runs and Harmeet Singh scored 30 runs for Lumbini. Biratnagar’s Nandan Yadav and Raj Nannan took two wickets each.
The winner, Lumbini, will receive a prize of Rs 55 lakh. Similarly, Biratnagar, the runner-up, received a prize of Rs. 30 lakhs. Janakpur Royals, who came third in the competition, got a prize of 1 million rupees and Kathmandu Knights, who came fourth, got a prize of 5 lakh rupees.
In the first edition of the Nepal T-20 Cricket League, six teams namely Lumbini All Stars, Biratnagar Super Kings, Janakpur Royals, Kathmandu Knights, Pokhara Avengers and Far West United participated.
