Kathmandu View Tower will be operational from next year

View Tower, which is being built at the bus park in Kathmandu, will be operational from next year. Bimal Rizal, a technical consultant and engineer of Jaleshwar Swachhand Wikoi Builders Company, informed the media that the construction of the View Tower will be completed within a year to one and a half years with the help of the metropolis.

According to the public-private partnership agreement with the Metropolitan Municipality in 2071, the company was supposed to complete the construction of View Tower by February 2075. Four years have passed since the specified period. But the company said that it will take another year and a half to complete the construction.

A commercial building is the priority of the company, which is planning to put Kathmandu Viewtower into operation within one and a half years. On the other hand, Kathmandu Metropolis has been saying that a bus terminal should be built initially. Mahesh Kumar Kafle, co-spokesperson of the metropolis and director of Public-Private Partnership Unit (PPP Unit) said, “Now only pick and drop is given. There is a need for a bus terminal to organize it.

So far, the Viewtower structure construction company has said that four billion rupees have been spent. He estimates that an additional four billion rupees will be spent by the time the construction is completed. The company has been paying annual tax of 98 lakhs. Co-spokesperson Kafle informed that there are two months left to reach four years of the contract period, and there is a discussion whether to take action against the company or to cooperate.

The metropolis itself has not been able to comply with some of the conditions for taking action. According to director Dhuvra Kafle, who has worked in the PPP unit, it has been difficult to evaluate the work due to the absence of an independent engineering group.

The foundation stone of the building was laid on November 25, 2072. It is said that there will be a cinema hall, a shopping mall and a terminal inside the View Tower. Bhutar building is being built on 40 percent of the land.
