Senior advocate Harishankar Niraula has been elected as the chairman of the new working committee of the Supreme Bar Association. Senior advocate Harishankar Niraula won by getting 289 votes from the broad democratic group. His competitor Tulsi Bhatt, a senior advocate of Pragatisheel, has received 275 votes.
Jagdish Prasad Pandey of the Democratic Party has won the post of Vice President, Shyam Kumar Khatri of the Progressive Party has won the post of Secretary, Sujan Lopchan of the Democratic Party has won the post of Joint Secretary and Kapil Chandra Pokharel has won the post of Treasurer. In one woman member, Pragathisil has won the victory.
Elections were held for 15 new officers consisting of five officers and 10 members. The tenure of the new working committee will be two years.
