Ramgram municipality has started constructing corridor with embankment at Jharahi rivulet in order to control inundation and erosion. The municipality started the activities to control inundation and erosion of Jharahi rivulet after the flood on the rivulet inundated Parasi bazaar last year, causing the losses of property worth millions of rupees.
The municipality has allocated Rs 10 million budget this year for the same. The municipality has requested the federal and province government to make arrangement of budget after it faces budget crunch.
Mayor Dhanapat Yadav met Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Leela Giri, and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhurba Pradhan, and demanded for the arrangement of budget.
Mayor Yadav said Minister Pradhan assured of taking initiative for making arrangement of budget by keeping the flood-control activities in priority. The municipality has demanded Rs 100 million with the federal government to construct embankment and corridor from Ujaini to Sahubatikar.
