Final hearing of the case against 52 constitutional officers from today

The final hearing of the case against 52 officials appointed in various constitutional bodies will be held on Wednesday (today) in the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court. After hearings were repeatedly affected, the Supreme Court ordered on 11th saun 2079 to make arrangements so that the hearing would not be held and the case would not be adjourned. According to the same order, the final hearing has been scheduled on Wednesday.

When KP Sharma Oli was the Prime Minister, a writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court saying that the constitutional council meeting was convened without the process and after that failed, names were recommended for the appointment of constitutional officers based on the ordinance.

Advocate Omprakash Aryal and others have demanded that the appointment of the constitutional officials should be canceled saying that there are many constitutional, legal and procedural errors during the appointment. It is claimed in the writ petition that the then Prime Minister Oli called the meeting of the Constitutional Council by messing up the process and decided to recommend officials when there was no quorum.

Also, as the House of Representatives has been dissolved, there is no parliamentary hearing and it is demanded that all the appointments should be annulled, saying that they were forcibly appointed by recommending names.
