Nepal won the third consecutive victory in the ICC U-19 Men’s World Cup Asia Qualifiers. Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets in the match on Monday. Nepal had earlier defeated Singapore and Kuwait.
Nepal completed the target of 121 runs given by Hong Kong at Malek Cricket Ground in Ajman, UAE, losing 1 wicket in 22.1 overs. Akash Tripathi, the opener for Nepal, remained unbeaten and scored the highest 64 runs. He played 72 balls and hit 5 fours and 4 sixes. Uttam Thapa Magar scored an unbeaten 39 runs. Opener Arjun Kumal added 16 runs. Hong Kong’s Daniel Morgan mop took 1 wicket.
After winning the toss, Hong Kong batted first and were all out for 120 runs in 46.3 overs. For Hong Kong, Partha Bhagwat scored 36 runs with 4 fours while playing 93 balls. Mohammad Aliyan Zahir scored 29 runs.
Nepal’s Hemant Dhami took 3 wickets. Similarly, Subhas Bhandari and Akash Chand took 2 wickets each. Dipesh Kandel took one wicket. Nepal will now play another match against Malaysia on Tuesday. The final match between Nepal and UAE will be played on Thursday.
