Preparations for the presidential election have been completed. According to the Election Commission, the voting time has been fixed from 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday. Ramchandra Poudel of Nepali Congress and Subas Chandra Nemwang of CPN-UML are candidates for the presidency.
Two polling stations have been constructed in the Parliament building complex in Baneshwar. One polling station has been built for the federal parliament and another polling station for the state assembly members.
According to Election Officer Mahesh Sharma, voters standing in line till 3 pm will be allowed to vote. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the polling station. If someone takes a mobile phone, it will be an election offence. Electoral Officer Sharma has informed various media that counting of votes will start tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm and the results will be announced at 7 pm.
