The hearing in the writ against the Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” will be held today.
The filing of the writ, which was adjourned yesterday on the grounds that it would not be heard on Thursday, has been scheduled for today. On Thursday, the writ was filed in the bench of Supreme Court judge Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha. However, Judge Shrestha, who was hearing other cases in a joint bench with Judge Anil Kumar Sinha, put the writ against Prachanda on the list not to be sent, and it was postponed for today.
Prachanda, who is also the chairman of the CPN Maoist Center, said that he was accused of killing 17,000 people during the conflict, and that he was ready to take responsibility for 5,000 people if the feudal lords took responsibility for killing 12,000 people.
