Kathmandu, March 27 : Three youths who were jailed for raising slogans against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal have been released. They were sent to jail after not posting the bail in the case of indecent behavior, but they were released on Tuesday after posting the bail.

On March 7th, while participating in the 58th International Racial Discrimination Eradication Public Program held at Thapagaon in Baneshwar, three people were arrested and charged for raising slogans against Prime Minister Prachanda. The defendants were 23-year-old Uddhav Basnet of Solukhumbu, 30-year-old Som Sharma of Baglung and 18-year-old Biplav Khadka of Bajhang.

In that case, the chief district officer of Kathmandu, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, set a bail of 5,000 on 12th March. They were sent to jail after not paying the bail. However, they were released after posting bail on Tuesday. The government and Prime Minister Prachanda were criticized after the release of a video of the police gagging them while arresting them.
