Kathmandu,April 10: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has seen modest single-digit gains on Monday, the second trading day of the week.The stock market index, which has been in continuous decline, increased by 5.54 points and closed at 1844.02.While most of the sub-indices, including banking, which leads the market, have increased, the financial company sub-indices have decreased.
On Monday, the hotel and tourism sub-index increased by 1.71 percent and the business sub-index increased by 1.30 percent. similarly, the banking sub-index increased by 0.35 percent. The financial company sub-index declined by 0.11 percent.
Although there was a general increase in NEPSE, the trading volume decreased on Monday. In the market which had a turnover of around 1.16 billion on Sunday, shares of 912 million rupees were traded on Monday. 29 lakh 60 thousand 863 shares of listed securities were traded in 35,549 transactions.
Shivam Cement had the highest turnover of 68.4 million rupees, Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower had 66.66 million rupees and NIC Asia Bank had 27.0 million rupees.A total of 217 listed companies traded on NEPSE on Monday, and the share prices of 132 companies increased. Similarly, while the share price of 77 companies declined, 8 companies remained stable.
Among them, Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower, which was listed on NEPSE and started trading on Monday, increased by 10 percent and Kalinchowk Darshan’s share price increased by 9.97 percent and closed at a positive circuit price, while Barahi Hydropower’s share price increased by 5.88 percent.The share price of Global IME Microfinance decreased by 6.54 percent, while the share price of Eastern Hydropower decreased by 3.99 percent.
