Kathmandu, April19: A meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) held to discuss the appointment of the Chief Justice (CJ) ended inconclusively today.A meeting of the CC held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday morning concluded without making any decision owing to what has been called “differences” among the political leaders.
Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Timsina said that the meeting held at the office of the Prime Minister at Singha Durbar, could not make any headway.Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Leader of the Main Opposition Party KP Sharma Oli, and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka participated in the meeting. A meeting of leaders of the three main parties held in Balkot earlier this week had agreed to proceed with the process of appointing the Chief Justice.
