First direct talks to be held to try to end fighting in Sudan

Khartoum, may 6: On Saturday, the first direct talks between the conflicting parties of Sudan are going to be held under the mediation of Saudi Arabia in the background of the ceasefire violations that have been done several times.

A joint statement by the US and Saudi Arabia welcomed the “pre-consensus talks” to be held in Jeddah between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

There were reports of fighting continuing in Khartoum on Friday. The Sudanese military said that the talks will be aimed at addressing issues related to the humanitarian crisis.
