Kathmandu: Chairman of CPN-UML KP Oli has underscored the imperative of effectively combating corruption at all costs. During the party’s Central Committee meeting in Lalitpur on Thursday, Chairman Oli, who is also the former Prime Minister, emphasized the importance of discouraging corruption and corrupt individuals.
Oli’s remarks come at a crucial juncture as the party’s Secretary, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is allegedly involved in the fake Bhutanese refugees scam, is currently evading authorities. Additionally, in relation to the same issue, the police have apprehended Bal Krishna Khand, a prominent Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister.
Chairman Oli of CPN-UML stated that the political landscape of the country has reached a ‘complex stage’ as a result of pervasive corruption. Oli expressed his concerns by stating, “The current state of the country’s politics has become intricate due to corruption.”
He further mentioned that he has already urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda to take impartial action against any individual involved in corruption, without being influenced by political biases.
