Kathmandu, May22: Rastriya Swatantra Party’s lawmaker Dr Swarnim Wagle has advised the government to present the policies and programmes and the budget as an integrated document. Taking part in the deliberations on the government policies and progrmmes for upcoming fiscal year 2023-24 in a session of the House of Representatives today, the lawmaker urged the government to compile the policies and programmes and the budget in a single document.
Commenting over the government new policies and programmes, the lawmaker who is also the economist said, ‘It, however, is largely a customary document, its good aspects be implemented effectively.’ He took time to advise the government to come up with a realistic budget being based on its policies and viabilities with a good intention.
Dr Dhawal Shumsher JB Rana urged the government to address issues of landless squatters in a permanent way and provide farmers with chemical fertilisers on time while Janata Samajbadi Party’s Prakash Adhikari said the policies and programmes failed to prioritise the issues and came as document of scattered programmes.
Similarly, airing views on the policies and programmes earlier, Arjun Narsingh KC of Nepali Congress, said the building of a corruption-free society was the first constitution to promote good governance. Stating that the fresh policies and programmes reflected the government ‘commitments’ to good governance, he underlined the need of implanting a zero-tolerance against corruption. The leader urged the government to intervene in unemployment and inflation issues, suggesting the idea of encouraging youth force to agriculture.
