Kathmandu,May 26: Statements of the defendants arrested in the fake Bhutanese refugee case underway in court. Statements of those arrested have started to be taken from Friday. Their statement will be taken before the judge in Kathmandu District Court
A case was registered in the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday against 30 people who tried to send Nepalis as fake Bhutanese refugees to America. Statements of 2 people are being taken today. Now the statements of the accused Keshav Dulal and Sagar Rai are continuing.
CPN (UML) secretary Top Bahadur Rayamazhi, Congress leader and former home minister Balkrishna Khan, incumbent secretary of the Vice President’s office Teknarayan Pandey, former home minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal’s security expert Indrajit Rai and other high-ranking officials are alleged to have been sent to the US in connection with the case. 16 people have been arrested in the case. They will be made to testify in court.
14 people are still absconding. A case has been filed against them for fraud, forgery of government documents, crime against nationality, organized crime and integrated crime.
