Moscow, June 13: Russia has been accused of a “massive missile attack” on several civilian buildings in Kryvyi Rih – the home city of President Volodymyr Zelensky. At least six people died and several others were injured, officials say – and pictures show a five-storey apartment block with smashed windows and smoke rising.
Elsewhere in the country, officials say buildings were hit in a drone attack in Kharkiv and that Kyiv’s air defences successfully repelled air attacks Russia has not yet commented on the latest strikes.
The latest hostilities come after Kyiv’s counter-offensive against Russian forces got under way – with the Ukrainians saying their troops have recaptured seven settlements. Elsewhere, the UN has warned of an impact on global food security as a result of the flooding of important Ukrainian farmland by last week’s breach of the Kakhovka dam.
