Kathmandu, July 06: The meeting of the House of Representatives, which was adjourned yesterday on Wednesday, will be held again today. The meeting of the House of Representatives was adjourned till this afternoon due to the obstruction of the main opposition party CPN-UML
As soon as the meeting started yesterday afternoon, UML MPs interrupted the meeting by objecting to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s statement that ‘businessman Pritam Singh rushed to Delhi to make himself Prime Minister’. Then Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting for half an hour. But after not reaching an agreement on conducting the meeting again, it was postponed until today.
On the other hand, the meeting of the National Assembly was also adjourned till today. As both the Houses of the Federal Parliament cannot function, the ordinance brought by the government to punish the meter-baggers has become inactive. The law stipulates that the replacement bill must be passed by both houses of parliament within 60 days of the promulgation of the ordinance. But since both the Houses of Parliament could not function, the Ordinance automatically became inactive.
