Dang,July 06: Two people died by electrocution on the Rapti highway after an electric current from a live wire passed into the bus they were travelling in.
The incident occurred in the Chor Khola section of the highway on Thursday after the bus made contact with a naked live wire that had been left unmanaged following a rainstorm on Wednesday evening, locals said.
The victims have been identified as Rolpa-local Kaluram Dangi and his son Topilal Dangi, said Bed Prasad Kharel, chief district officer. Traffic has been obstructed due to the accident. Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
