Kathmandu, July 12: Sita Dahal, the wife of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ was cremated with state honors at Pashupatinath Aryaghat in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon. Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, solemnly lit the funeral pyre.
In recognition of her contributions, an emergency cabinet meeting had earlier determined that Sita Dahal would be cremated with state honors. A significant number of individuals, including political leaders, prominent figures, artists, and members of the general public, gathered at the Aryaghat to pay their respects.
Sita Dahal passed away on Wednesday morning at 8:33 am while receiving treatment at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali.Her body had been kept at the party office from 11 am earlier today.
