Kathmandu: The legality of the formation of the Koshi state government will be discussed in the full session of the Supreme Court from today. The full bench will be appointed today. On Asar 21, Uddhav Thapa, the leader of the Koshi Pradesh Congress Parliamentary Party, became the Chief Minister with the support of Speaker Baburam Gautam and submitted 9 signatures.
Hikmat Karki, the leader of the UML parliamentary party, filed a writ saying that the formation of the government with the support of the Speaker was illegal. The joint bench of Justices Sushmalta Mathema and Til Prasad Shrestha ordered the writ petition to be sent to the full bench during the hearing of the case against Chief Minister Thapa, Speaker Gautam and Provincial Chief Khapung yesterday.
