Kathmandu: The main highways across the country have been affected due to incessant rains and subsequent floods and landslides . Dozens of highways have been blocked across the country, the police informed latest update .
Due to the landslide in Kalikhola of the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, which is considered as the lifeline of Kathmandu, this road has come into operation only in one direction. This road section is closed from this morning.
The Kaligandaki corridor is now blocked. A landslide has blocked the road in Baglung Municipality 10 Galuwa of this corridor. Even the Siddharth highway is currently operating in one direction only. This road section has been affected by the landslide that occurred on the dam side of Palpa, Tinahun village. The Bhimdatta highway is now blocked.
According to the Nepal Police, this road was blocked due to a landslide in Godavari Municipality 4 Budhitola of Lali and Gopale of Chure Rural Municipality. The Bhaluwang road section of Pyuthan has been blocked. A landslide has blocked the road at a place called Garjeni of Mandvi rural municipality 1.
Tamor Corridor of Panchthar towards eastern Nepal has been blocked. Landslide occurred in Fidim 4 of this district. The road has also been blocked on the BP highway in Kavre. The road has been blocked in Kaldhunga of Roshi Rural Municipality of Kavre. According to the Nepal Police, the road has also been blocked in Kamerefant of Sindhuli district of BP highway.
Makwanpur’s Kanti Lokpath has also been blocked. Landslide blocked the road in Lamrang located in Bakia of this district. Passanglhamu highway in Nuwakot has also been blocked. According to the Nepal Police, the road is blocked due to a landslide in Kakaki Nigale of this district.
The Beni-Jomsom road section of Myagdi has also been blocked. According to the police, the road is blocked at Baisari in Raghuganga of this district. Dadeldhura’s Batudar-Jogbudha inner road section has also been blocked today. The road was blocked at Sunkhola in Alital of this district.
