Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has resolved to observe a three-day period of mourning in honor of its Vice Chairperson, Subash Chandra Nemwang, who passed away last night.This decision was reached during an emergency meeting convened at the CPN UML Secretariat on Tuesday morning.
The meeting commenced with a moment of silence, paying tribute to the memory of Nemwang.Pradeep Gyawali, Acting General Secretary of the party, conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the organization, expressing deep sorrow over Nemwang’s untimely demise.
He announced the adoption of a special condolence resolution. In commemoration of Nemwang’s legacy, the party has decided to establish condolence booklets at central, state, and district party offices, which will be available for signing over the next three days, beginning from Tuesday.
Additionally, as a symbol of respect, the party flag will be flown at half-mast.Gyawali stated that there will be mourning activities conducted at the local level within Nemwang’s constituency of Ilam.
In a gesture of solidarity and respect, the UML has also chosen to suspend all party-related programs and activities, including those of affiliated mass organizations, for the duration of these three days, starting from Tuesday.
