Kathmandu: The remains of the Constituent Assembly Chairman and CPN-UML Vice Chairman, Subas Chandra Nembang, have been repatriated to his residence in Baluwatar.Nembang’s two sons, who were abroad, returned to Nepal on Wednesday. His eldest son had been living in Britain with his family, while his younger son was on a visit to Australia.
The body of Subas Chandra Nembang had been kept at the UML party central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, throughout Tuesday and from 9 am to 1 pm on Wednesday. Subsequently, it was transported to his Baluwatar residence on Wednesday afternoon.
A program has been organized to allow relatives, friends, and family members to pay their final respects to Nembang in accordance with customary and religious rituals.The final rites for Subas Chandra Nembang will be conducted at the Pashupati Aryaghat with full state honors at 11 am on Thursday.
In recognition of this solemn occasion, the government has declared Thursday a public holiday.Nembang is survived by two sons and two daughters, with his daughters currently residing in Kathmandu.
