Kathmandu: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, currently on an official visit to China, held a meeting with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Chinese National People’s Congress. The meeting took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the capital of China.Prime Minister Dahal was also given a special honor ‘Guard of Honor’ in Beijing on Monday.
He was given a ‘guard of honor’ by a special team of the Chinese army at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During their discussions, both leaders deliberated on several key issues, including the implementation of agreements related to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a comprehensive review of the existing trade agreement, cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, and information technology, among other matters of bilateral importance.
Building on the recent talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hangzhou city, Prime Minister Dahal is engaged in preparing a memorandum of understanding on cooperative endeavors. This visit follows his participation in the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations and his subsequent journey to Hangzhou city as part of his official visit to China.
While in China, Prime Minister Dahal’s itinerary includes an inspection of China’s modern farming practices in Chongqing Metropolitan City, meetings with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, and delivering a keynote address at the China-Nepal Investment Conference, organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
Following these engagements, Prime Minister Dahal will embark on a visit to Tibet, an autonomous region of China that shares a border with Nepal.His visit to Tibet is planned ahead of his return to Nepal on September 30th.
