Butwal : RadhaKrishna Kandel of Palpa has been elected as the chairman of CPN-UML’s Lumbini Province. Kandel defeated CPN-UML central member Hari Rijal of Pyuthan by two votes.
Kandel won with 479 votes while his rival Rijal secured 477 votes. Similarly, Bhoj Prasad Shrestha of Kandel group won the post of vice-chair t with 455 votes while his nearest rival Bishwa Raj Baral Anup of Rijal group got 306 votes.
Purna Budha Magar of Rolpa won the post of male deputy-secretary with 418 votes. His rival Durga Prasad Tharu of Banke got 393 votes, according to the election committee. Similarly, Leela Rana Magar of Bardiya has been elected as the deputy -secretary of the Kandel group by securing 352 votes.
His rival Basanti Adhikari of Banke got 351 votes. Similarly, Laxman Acharya was elected unopposed as secretary on Monday. There were a total of 1,004 voters in the convention, out of which only 965 votes were cast in the election.
