Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda emphasized Nepal’s active presence on the global stage during his address to the House of Representatives on Sunday.
He shared insights into his recent participation in the United Nations General Assembly and his visit to China. Prime Minister Dahal noted the significance of his visit in garnering support from the United Nations and the international community for Nepal’s ongoing peace process.
He stressed the importance of global recognition for Nepal’s successful transition from conflict to peace, its pursuit of sustainable development goals, its response to climate change, and the challenges faced by least-developed countries, including Nepal.
Recalling his visit to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly on August 30th and his subsequent trip to China on October 5th, Prime Minister Prachanda highlighted the diplomatic achievement of ending a four-year period without high-level visits between the two countries.
He underscored that these bilateral discussions had solidified Nepal’s policy stance on sensitive regional issues, fostering a climate of trust at the political level. Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to intensifying bilateral cooperation, trade expansion, investment, and people-to-people relations. Prime Minister Prachanda also noted the growing goodwill from Chinese leaders toward Nepal and its people.
