Kathmandu, Oct 13: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started distributing new currency notes to the banks and financial institutions targeting Dashain festival.
As there is a high demand for new notes during Dashain, the NRB has started exchanging fresh banknotes from Thursday to distribute them to the general public through commercial banks. Banks and financial institutions will provide notes to common people after the NRB gives them.
NRB, which has started issuing new notes to banks, has said that they will distribute them to the general public from October 16. The NRB has said that the new notes will be provided from the central office in Baluwatar and Biratnagar in Morang, Janakpur in Dhanusha, Birgunj in Parsa, Siddharthnagar in Rupandehi, Pokhara in Kaski and Surkhet in Birendranagar.
NRB has planned to distribute from Central Office and Provincial Offices of NRB. These notes will be available for common people to exchange at a rate of Rs 18,500 per person.
