Kathmandu. An earthquake was felt in Bajura on Tuesday afternoon. According to the National Centre for Seismology and Research, a 4-magnitude earthquake was measured around Bichhaya in Bajura at 12:58 am.
Centre’s seismologist Bharat Koirala said the quake was not a new one. An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale had hit Bajura on May 15. Today’s shock was an aftershock, the Centre said.
A total of 444 aftershocks have been recorded in Jajarkot since Friday midnight. An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck around Ramidanda in Jajarkot at 11.47 am on Friday. Jajarkot and Rukum West have suffered heavy loss of life and property due to the earthquake.
