Kathmandu: In its ongoing efforts to broaden its national footprint, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a mass assembly in Simraungadh, Bara today. The event will take place at the Kankali Mata temple, situated near the bus park, the party said.
The poster released by the party highlights an all-male lineup of speakers, with party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane taking the stage as the keynote speaker. Other speakers listed include lawmaker Manish Jha, Anil Keshari Shah, Chandan Kumar Swarnakar, and Saheb Ansari.
The party has shared posters featuring the male speakers on various social media platforms, generating both attention and criticism. However, the party’s claim to bring about change in the existing situation, rather than the system itself, has sparked backlash on social media.
Critics argue that the party, despite its progressive stance, falls short on gender balance and inclusivity, with some characterizing it as a reflection of outdated ideologies. The absence of women speakers has prompted online discussions questioning the party’s commitment to modern values, labeling it as a resurgence of traditional male dominance.
