Koshi’s fourth win in women’s cricket, Gandaki’s fourth defeat

Kathmandu, Dec 27 : Koshi Province has registered its fourth victory in the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament. In the meantime, they defeated Gandaki Province by 55 runs on Wednesday. This is Gandaki’s fourth defeat.

Chasing a target of 104 runs set by Koshi, Gandaki was all out for 48 runs in 15 overs. Suman Khatiwada remained unbeaten on 21 runs for Gandaki. None of the other batters could score in double digits. Srijana Poudel, Rachna Chaudhary, Shreya Sharma and Aakriti Tiwari could not even open their accounts.

For Koshi, captain Rubina Chhetri took three wickets in an over and she did not give a single run in the 15th over. Sangita Rai and Alisha Khadia took two wickets each. Apsari Begum took one wicket. After winning the toss and batting at mulpani cricket ground, Koshi scored 103 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.

Vimala Malaha top-scored for Koshi with 25 runs. She hit two fours in her 37-ball innings. Lakita Rajbanshi scored 22 runs. Sangita Rai remained unbeaten on 23 while others failed to score in double digits. Kusum Godar and Srishti Jaishi took two wickets each for Gandaki. Aakriti Tiwari, Rachna Chaudhary and Suman Khatiwada took one wicket each.

Koshi had earlier defeated Karnali Province by 10 wickets, Bagmati by 8 wickets and Madhes by 60 runs. In the fourth match, Koshi lost to APF by 8 wickets. Gandaki has so far defeated only Karnali State. Gandaki defeated Karnali by 44 runs. In the first match, Lumbini lost by 4 wickets, Bagmati by 4 wickets and Madhes by 27 runs.
