Kathmandu: Director of Confucius Institute of Kathmandu University Li Shuangcheng has said that the Confucius Institute has agreed to send the best teachers to teach Chinese language to Nepal Mountain Academy. Speaking at an event organised by Nepal Mountain Academy (a government organization under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nepal) here on Friday, he said that according to this, students can learn Chinese language and experience traditional Chinese culture.
The Confucius Institute will also strive to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Government of China, the relevant universities, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nepal and the Mountain Research Academy. He also urged Nepal Mountain Academy Campus Chief Shiva Prasad Jaisi and Assistant Campus Chief Tanka Prasad Poudel to visit China.
Nepal Mountain Academy Campus Chief Jaishi and Assistant Campus Chief Poudel said that Nepal and China are friendly neighbours and Nepal Mountain Academy is very positive in providing Chinese language courses at all postgraduate and graduate levels. They expressed the hope that the Corporation of Confucius Institute of Kathmandu University would establish cooperative relations with Chinese research institutions and related universities in key areas related to environment, situation, climate and mountain rescue.
On the occasion, Academy’s Assistant Campus Chief Poudel briefed about the development and history of Nepal Mountain Academy, the current post-graduate and graduate students, vocational training program, research achievements of the academy and foreign assistance project. Nepal Mountain Academy Campus Chief Jaishi had invited Director Li on Friday to discuss some collaboration projects between the two educational institutions.
