Kathmandu, Jan 1, 2024 : The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has said that it has drawn attention to the factless and misleading news published by various media outlets. According to the Authority, attention has been drawn to the factless news published in various media with the headline ‘Another irregularity in the Telecom Authority: MDMS contract by forging the signature of the former secretary’.
In a press release signed by NTA spokesperson Santosh Poudel on Monday, the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) has been brought into operation to further streamline the import, use and distribution of mobile devices, track and block missing and stolen mobile sets and to identify authentic mobile sets.
Procurement expert Suresh Pradhan was appointed on Baisakh 17, 2076 regarding the complaint filed during the selection of MDMS system and through his email Address: [email protected] received opinions and suggestions on Mon, May 6, 2019, 11:14 PM. He was also paid Rs 40,000 in the account of Everest Bank Limited in addition to taxes.
‘The Authority denies the baseless, misleading and character-violating news published regarding pradhan’s report,’ the statement said. The NTA has also urged the spokesperson and assistant spokesperson to disseminate information about the works to be carried out in the Authority based on the facts.
