Kathmandu, Jan 4: The fugitive prisoner who managed to escape with handcuffs from the premises of Kathmandu District Court has been successfully apprehended. Bimal Khadka, who made his escape from the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday afternoon, was located and arrested by the police in Jadibuti early this morning.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumod Dhungel, the spokesperson for District Police Range, Kathmandu, Khadka was taken back into custody without incident. Khadka had been initially arrested by the Police Circle, Swayambhu, on charges related to a robbery involving the display of dollars.
While in custody for that offense, he was taken to court in connection with another case from Maharajgunj police. It was during this process that he managed to evade the police’s attention and successfully escape. Following the escape, the police conducted an extensive overnight search operation leading to his recapture.
