Chinese movie ‘Song of Tibet’ screened in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, March 16: The film ‘Song of Tibet’, directed by Professor Xie Fei, has been screened in Kathmandu. The film was shown to the audience at an event held in Kathmandu on Friday.

Film Director Xie Fei, professor of Confucius College, students, intellectuals, artists and journalists were present on the occasion. In the first session of the program, the film ‘Song of Tibet’ was screened. In the second session, director Xie Fei made it clear about film.

‘Song of Tibet’ is the last and historical film of Xie Fei made in 2000 AD. After the production of this film, he produced two drama series.’Song of Tibet’is considered to be the best film in the history of Xie Fei’s 50-year film.

What’s in the ‘Song of Tibet’?

The film depicts the cultural revolution of the 60s and 70s. It covers the lives of Tibetan women and the men in her life. Song of Tibet displays the last century of Tibetan history and social change from Serfdom to modern society by telling the love story of Yeshe Dolma, a Tibetan woman, her romance with three men and her whole life.

According to the scene of the film, an elderly couple lives in the shadow of Potala palace in Lhasa. Their educated grand daughter comes to see them. Over time, grandma tells her about the three men in her life.The actors and actress are all from Tibet.

The film is beautifully written, acted and directed. Politics is in the background, the life and love of an ordinary woman is ahead. Therefore, this film contains the story of the traditional rural lifestyle of Tibetans, common practices, love life, women’s struggle, etc.
