Kathmandu, March 20 : International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Greg Barclay paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today, they discussed various issues related to the development of cricket in Nepal. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal said that Nepali cricket has got priority and importance due to the visit of ICC Chairman to Nepal.
“The Government of Nepal has given great priority to cricket infrastructure by deciding to construct the cricket stadium as a scheme of national pride,” he said, adding that the Government of Nepal has given great importance to the 2027 U-19 Women’s World Cup. We are also looking forward to significant support from the ICC. ’
Barclay had said that the ICC would support the development of Nepal’s cricket sector.Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal, Dr Baikuntha Aryal and office-bearers of the Cricket Association of Nepal were present in the meeting.
