Janakpurdham: A corruption case has been filed against 12 people, including the mayor, deputy mayor and chief administrative officer of Jaleshwor Municipality in Mahottari. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday filed a corruption case against 12 people, including Mayor Suresh Sah Senar, Deputy Mayor Roshan Khatun and the then Chief Administrative Officer Mitralal Dhakal.
Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Ward No. 1 of Jaleshwor Municipality-1 have been accused of corruption by carrying out sub-standard works on the slope of Hatbazar area. A corruption case has been filed at the Special Court against Ward No. 1 Chair Anil Kumar Jha, chief administrative officer and other employees and office-bearers of the consumer committee.
The CIAA has claimed that rs 584,637 more has been paid than the work done under the scheme.The other employees who have been charged with corruption are Dhirendra Jha, senior engineer Pawan Kumar Jha, engineer Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary and sub-engineer Dipesh Kumar Sah, executive member Sogra Khatun, consumer committee chairman Rakesh Kumar Sah, secretary Sikendra Chaudhary and treasurer Santoshi Devi.
