Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has won the vote of confidence from the Meeting of the House of Representatives( HoR). He has won the vote of confidence for the fourth time in this term of the House of Representatives.
In today’s second meeting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Dahal had presented the motion related to the vote of confidence amidst protests and sloganeering by the main opposition Nepali Congress lawmakers. Other opposition parties also stood up and protested in the meeting.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire presented the proposal for decision, while 157 votes were cast in favour of Prime Minister Dahal, zero against and one vote on the proposal. Speaker Ghimire informed that 158 lawmakers participated in the vote of confidence.
Speaker Ghimire had allowed Prime Minister Dahal to move the motion related to the vote of confidence amidst obstruction by the NC lawmakers. Nepali Congress has accused Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane of embezzling cooperative funds.
