Kathmandu: Discussions are underway on the government’s policies and programmes amid protests by the main opposition Nepali in the House of Representatives meeting.
President Ram Chandra Poudel had presented the government’s policies and programmes in the federal parliament on Jestha 1. However, the policy and programme could not be discussed as the Nepali Congress had disrupted parliament demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee into the cooperative fraud case.
In today’s meeting too, the Nepali Congress has been raising slogans in the Parliament, maintaining its previous position. However, the Speaker said that an hour’s time has been fixed for discussion on it. Earlier, Rastriya Janamorcha lawmaker Chitra Bahadur KC and Nemkipa lawmaker Prem Suwal had proposed the amendment.
Since then, policies and programmes are being discussed on the basis of party representation. Opposition Nepali Congress lawmakers, however, surrounded the well and shouted slogans.
