Both houses of federal parliament to discuss budget starting from Sunday

Kathmandu, June 1: Both the houses of the Federal Parliament will commence discussions on the budget from Sunday.The government unveiled a budget of Rs 1.860 trillion for the next fiscal year on May 28. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed Maoist MPs to effectively participate in the discussions by convening a parliamentary party meeting.

Additionally, National Assembly Speaker Narayan Dahal has scheduled a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee to finalize the agenda for meetings until mid-June. According to the published agenda, the National Assembly will meet on June 2, 3, 4, 10, and 11.

According to the possible agenda, the discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure will begin on June 2, the Ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to investment facilitation, 2080 BS will be presented for construction, the clause-wise discussion will be held on the Media Council Bill 2080 BS, and the report of the Committee on Secure Transaction Bill will be presented.

Similarly, there will be a discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure on June 3, there will be a discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure on June 4 and the finance minister will answer the questions raised during the discussion.

In the meeting of the National Assembly on June 10, discussion on proposals of urgent public importance related to reduction of road accidents, Media Council Bill, 2080 BS will be sent to the committee for detailed discussion.

On June 11, the report of the constitutional body will be submitted and the report of the Committee on Secure Transactions Bill will be discussed and approved.
