Kathmandu: Both houses under the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today (Sunday) at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar. The Meeting of the House of Representatives to be held at 1:00 PM, is likely to pass the Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081′ and the ‘Legislation Bill, 2081’.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel is scheduled to present a proposal for the passage of the Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. Earlier, Finance Minister Poudel will present a proposal seeking discussion on the Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080 bs along with the report of the Finance Committee.
Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia is scheduled to present a proposal for the passage of the Legislation Management-2081 BS. Earlier, Law Minister Chaurasia will present a proposal seeking discussion on the Legislation Bill, 2080, which originated in the National Assembly along with the report of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is likely to present the annual report of the National Information Commission for the fiscal year 2079/80 BS and Speaker Devraj Ghimire is likely to read out the letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the extension of work, according to Federal Parliament General Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey.
Finance Minister to reply to National Assembly
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel is likely to answer oral questions related to the Ministry of Finance in today’s meeting of the National Assembly. National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal will brief the meeting about the letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the assignment of the members of the Council of Ministers.
Chairperson of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee Kamala Panta will present the annual report of the Development Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee for the fiscal year 2080÷81 BS’ and Chairperson of the Federalism Empowerment and National Concern Committee Sonam Geljen Sherpa will present the ‘Annual Report of the Federalism Empowerment and National Concern Committee for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS’.
Similarly, National Assembly Secretary Dr Surendra Aryal is scheduled to table the message received from the House of Representatives regarding the ‘Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2077 BS’, which was passed by the National Assembly and sent to the House of Representatives with the message, according to General Secretary pandey.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai is likely to present a proposal in the meeting seeking discussion on the amendment made by the House of Representatives regarding the Nepal University Bill, 2079 BS, which has been returned from the House of Representatives.
