Patan (Lalitpur), Sept 21: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the people’s multi-party democracy (Janatako Bahudaliya Janabad) has emphasized on the need to build a self-reliant and strong economy.
Addressing the 25th foundation day and silver jubilee ceremony of Madan Bhandari Foundation held today in Lalitpur, she said that the main feature of PMPD is to strengthen the national economy therefore every citizen should be independent and work for better economic status.
The former head of the state opined to strengthen national economy to lead the nation on the way to prosperity. She further praised the role of the foundation played in different social sectors.
Similarly, CPN UML acting chair Ishwar Pokharel also opined to boost national economy adding that the PMPD was relevant thoughts to guide the society.
Foundation chair Mahendra Bahadur Pandey had briefed the activities of the foundation. On the occasion, People’s singer Ram Krishna Dulal was feted by Madan Bhandari Transformation Leadership National Award. The award carries a purse Rs 111,101.
