Monsoon-induced disasters (Update): 100 dead; 67 missing

Kathmandu,29 Sept: The death toll due to floods, landslides and drowning after incessant rains has reached 99. 72 people have gone missing and 101 people have been injured in this disaster.

According to Rishi Ram Tiwari, Joint Secretary and Spokesman of the Ministry of Home Affairs, 48 people have died in Kathmandu Valley alone. Spokesperson Tiwari informed that 25 people died in Kathmandu, five in Bhaktapur and 18 in Lalitpur.

Spokesperson Tiwari says that 68 people were rescued by the helicopter of the Nepalese army in Makwanpur, Sindhuli and Kavrepalanchok until Saturday night. Among those rescued, there are 33 from Makwanpur, 33 from Sindhuli and two from Kavrepalanchok.
