Chitwan, Nov. 1: The Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality has constructed a chilling centre to store agricultural products. The rural municipality said that the centre also known as the cold store was built at its Agriculture Building located in Phisling area with an investment of Rs 2 million.
Chairman of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality Dan Bahadur Gurung said that the construction of the cold store is expected to end the farmers’ compulsion to sell their agricultural products at low costs.
Chairman Gurung added that such facilities will be developed in the future as well as per the farmers’ demand and needs. Gurung shared that the Agriculture Building was established for the collection and sale of agricultural products. Two agricultural cooperative organizations and farmers’ groups have worked together for the collection and sale of local products in Phisling area.
Chairman Gurung stated that plans are afoot to provide seeds, fertilizers and agricultural tools to the farmers through the cooperative organizations in the near future.
