Biratnagar’s thrilling win over Lumbini, defeats by two wickets

Kathmandu, 4 December: Biratnagar Kings defeated Lumbini Lions by 2 wickets in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket.

Chasing a target of 192 runs set by Lumbini, Biratnagar achieved the target of 192 runs with the last ball remaining, losing 8 wickets. Biratnagar’s Lokesh Bam scored 71 runs. Similarly, Bashir Ahmed scored 40, Martin Guptill scored 28, and Chris Saul scored 14 runs not out in 4 balls. Lumbini’s Durgesh Gupta took 3 wickets.

Earlier, Lumbini, who were invited to bat after losing the toss at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, scored 191 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Lumbini captain Rohit Poudel scored 46, while Toss Moores scored 30 runs. Lumbini got 29 extra runs. Biratnagar captain Sandeep Lamichhane, Ismaal Alam and Rajesh Pulami took 1 wicket each. 4 Lumbini players were run out.

This is Biratnagar’s first win in the competition. Biratnagar had lost two games before. This is Lumbini’s first game.
