Kathmandu, Dec. 5: The China Cultural Centre (CCC) in Kathmandu hosted a China-Nepal tourism promotion event here on Wednesday. The programme named ‘Nihao China’ saw participants from business community, tourism fraternity, airlines companies and many others. It was jointly organized by the CCC, Kathmandu Office, China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu.
On the occasion, CCC Director of Kathmandu Office Xiao Jiang said that the programme helped Nepali tourism professionals to have a better understanding of Chinese tourism resources and its tourism policies. The programme also contributed to setting up connections, sharing information, and exploring opportunities for the future collaboration between Chinese and Nepali tourism counterparts, she added.
More than one hundred Nepali travel and ticketing agents as well as the representatives of Chinese tourist companies from Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency were also present. Director Xiao said that as Nepal and China enjoy unique culture and abundant tourism resources, the bilateral partnership in tourism sector will benefit both sides.
She also acknowledged the Nepal Visit Year 2025 and shared that the upcoming 2025 will be a special year as it marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal. Likewise, Mohan Suwal of China National Tourist Office shared about the tourism products, Chinese cuisine, cultural and historical heritages and other richness of Chinese tourism.
