Kaski:The Seti Hydropower Project located at Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality in the district of Kaski has started commercial power generation. The project with a capacity of 25 megawatts commenced commercial power generation after completing the tests of power plant, interconnection and commissioning.
Chairman of the company Jag Bahadur Pokharel told the RSS that the power generated from the project was connected to the system of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).The power generated from the project is supplied to the NEA through its substation at Lahachowk village of the rural municipality.
The total cost of the run of the river project has exceeded Rs 5 billion, it is said. The water has been supplied to the powerhouse at Chintebagar area through a 6,400-metre-long underground pipeline from Bharabhari site of Seti river in Sardhikhola.
