Kathmandu, Dec.11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has administered oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed chief commissioner of the National Information Commission (NIC) Dr Suresh Acharya.
According to PM’s Secretariat, PM Oli administered the oath to Chief Commissioner Acharya while other newly appointed Commissioners Durga Bhandari and Gagan Bista were administered the oath of office and secrecy in the program organized at Prime Minister Residence Baluwatar.
There was the presence of Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung and Secretary Radhika Aryal in the program. Wishing to the newly appointed commissioners, the PM said that the role of the commission needs to be effective for implementation and use of the right of information as a fundamental right in the constitution and said that the tendency of unrelated persons to ask for information of government needs to be discouraged as it muddies governmental work.
